When we delete your data

In general, we delete your data after the purpose has been fulfilled. Different deletion rules apply depending on the processing purpose. In our deletion concepts, we have defined different data classes and assigned them specific deletion periods. Deletion rules are assigned to the data collected. After the retention period has expired, the stored data is deleted accordingly.

We will delete your personal data either at your request, if you notify us, or three years after it was collected. If your account is inactive for three years, we will also delete it. Before we do this, you will receive a separate announcement from us at the email address registered in your user account.

In addition to the deletion rules we define, there are legal retention periods that we must also adhere to. For example, tax documents must be kept for a period of six to ten years, or in some cases even longer. These specific retention periods vary according to local legal requirements.

Therefore, despite your request to delete your data, we may still have to retain some of the stored data for legal reasons. In this case, however, we will restrict further processing of the data.

Who we share your data with

In the following section we would like to inform you about who we transfer your data to and under what conditions. In addition, we also want to be transparent about the countries to which we transfer your data.

Which third parties have access to personal data

We never pass your data on to unauthorized third parties. However, as part of our work, we use the services of selected service providers and give them limited and strictly monitored access to some of our data. However, before we pass personal data on to these partner companies for processing on our behalf, each individual company undergoes an audit. All data recipients must meet the data protection requirements and provide evidence of their data protection level accordingly.

Below we would like to inform you transparently and comprehensibly about all our data recipients and the respective reasons:

Information about our cookies Definition of cookies and which cookies we use

In order to make visiting our website/app more attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, we use so-called cookies on various pages. These are small text files that are stored on your device. Some of the cookies we use are deleted at the end of the browser session, i.e. after you close your browser (so-called session cookies). Other cookies remain on your device and allow us or our business partner to recognize your browser on your next visit (resident cookies). You can select your browser settings so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and decide whether you want to accept or reject them in special cases or in general. Rejecting cookies can limit the functionality of our website/app.

What Categories Of Cookies Are There?

Strictly necessary cookies are required to enable you to move around a website/app and use its features. Without these cookies, functionalities cannot be guaranteed, for example that actions performed during a visit (e.g. text input) are retained even when navigating between individual pages of the website.

Functional cookies allow a website/app to remember information you have already provided (such as your user name, language selection or the location you are in) and provide improved, more personal features to the user. These cookies collect anonymized information; they cannot track your movements on other websites.

Performance cookies collect information about how a website/app is used – for example, which pages a visitor visits most often and whether they receive error messages from a page. These cookies do not store any information that allows the user to be identified. The information collected is aggregated and anonymous. These cookies are used exclusively to improve the performance of a website/app and thus the user experience.

Cookies for marketing purposes are used to display advertisements that are more relevant to the user and tailored to their interests. They are also used to limit the frequency of an advert and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. They register whether or not you have visited a website/app. This information can be shared with third parties (e.g. advertisers). Cookies to improve targeting and advertising are often linked to third-party site functionalities.

Objection to the use of cookies

If you do not want us to collect and analyze information about your visit, you can object to this at any time for the future (opt-out). If you would like to object, please contact us using the contact information above.

To technically implement this objection, an opt-out cookie is set in your browser. This cookie is used solely to reflect your objection. Please note that for technical reasons an opt-out cookie can only be used for the browser that set it. If you delete cookies or use a different browser or device, you must repeat the opt-out process.

Third Party Cookies We Use Google AdWords

As an AdWords customer, we use Google Conversion Tracking. This is an analysis service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). When you access our website via a Google ad, Google AdWords places a cookie on your device (“conversion cookie” – performance cookie). This cookie expires after 30 days. It is not used to identify individuals. If the cookie has not yet expired when you visit certain pages, we and Google can recognize that someone clicked on the ad and was directed to our site. Each advertiser receives a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be tracked across advertisers’ websites. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Advertisers see the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were directed to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that could personally identify users. If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can also opt out – for example, by using your browser settings that generally reject automatic cookies. You can also deactivate cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser so that cookies from the domain “googleadservices.com” are blocked.

Google Analytics

We work with Google Analytics. This is a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). The information on your use of our website generated by the Google Analytics cookie is usually transmitted by Google to a server in the USA and stored there. IP anonymization is activated on our websites, so that the IP address of Google users in member states of the European Union or other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area is shortened beforehand. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google uses this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us with other services related to website and internet usage. The IP address made available to Google Analytics as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. You can prevent cookies from being stored by setting your browser software accordingly; However, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent.

You can also prevent Google from collecting and processing the data generated by the cookie in connection with your use of the website (including your IP address) by installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en .

Bing Ads

We use conversion tracking from Microsoft Corporation (One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA; Microsoft). When you access our website via a Bing ad, Microsoft Bing Ads places a cookie on your device. This allows Microsoft Bing and us to recognize that someone has clicked on an ad and been directed to our website. We only see the total number of users who have clicked on a Bing ad and been directed. Personal data on the identity of the user is not made available. If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can also refuse the setting of the required cookie – for example via your browser settings by generally deactivating the automatic setting of cookies.

Facebook Retargeting

We use the Website Custom Audiences Retargeting Tool from Facebook Inc. (1601 S. California Ave., Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA; “Facebook”). If you have a Facebook user account and this is identifiable for the tool based on existing Facebook cookies, it generates a non-personal checksum that is sent to Facebook for analysis and marketing purposes. On the other hand, we encrypt your email address and send it to Facebook in encrypted form. By recognizing the cookies and transmitting encrypted information, Facebook can show you targeted product recommendations as personalized advertising banners on Facebook.

You can object to the use of Facebook Website Custom Audiences at https://www.facebook.com/ads/website_custom_audiences/.

Subject to change

We reserve the right to change this privacy policy in accordance with legal requirements. We will of course inform you of any significant adjustments such as changes in purpose or new processing purposes.

Final note

The protection of your personal data is very important to us. We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. But please remember that your data belongs to you. The less information you disclose, the more control you have. For example, if you want to surf anonymously and do not want your surfing behavior to be analyzed by us, our service providers or anyone else, you should make the appropriate browser settings. As long as you do not make these settings, many providers will record the information you disclose. Only in rare cases can a personal reference be made, but you could still surf in “incognito mode” with Google Chrome or in “private mode” with Firefox, for example.
